Looking for a bargain summer weekend full of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz classes, great music and cosy community vibes?
Join us in Cardiff for the return of Summer Swing Out, an all levels community summer weekender that won’t break the bank!
The schedule
Friday 24th July: Warm Up Class + Social (7.30-11pm)
Saturday 25th July: 4hrs All Levels Workshops + Taster Class + Live Band Social (7.30-11pm)
Sunday 26th July: 4hrs All Levels Workshops + Tea Dance (4-6pm)
The workshops are aimed at confident social dancers, comfortable mixing 6 count, 8 count and Charleston ideas (you’ll have classic moves like a swing out in your pocket). You value grooves over moves and want to explore quality of movement, rhythm and expression!
Classes will be taught by Jessie and Benjie from The Swing Project - there will be a mixture of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz Classes featured across the weekend.
VENUE DETAILS
The entire weekend is being held at Dinas Powys Parish Hall, a beautiful sprung floor venue just 15 minutes from Cardiff city centre. The venue is also 15 minutes drive from J33 on the M4 (where you join the A4232).
Want to take public transport? The venue is a 5 minute walk from Dinas Powys Train Station, 3 stops from Cardiff Central (journey time approx. 20 minutes).
Safety Measures and codes of conduct
We run all of our events in line with the STEPS Code of Conduct in order to ensure everyone's safety and wellbeing. Even if you've been to Cardiff before, please give them a read - it's a great reminder that as community members, we're responsible for looking after one another on and off the dancefloor. If you have any questions or concerns during the event, please reach out to a member of our Safety and Wellness volunteer team, who you'll spot wearing red lanyards.
Safety policy decisions will be made closer to the date and attendees will be informed. When you sign up, you are agreeing to abide by such safety requirements if they are in place. This includes those attending just the socials.
If you test positive for COVID, or display symptoms, we ask that you consider your fellow dancers and do not attend.

WEEKENDER TICKETS
WHOLE WEEKEND TICKET: £85 (8hrs Workshops, 2hrs Taster Classes, Friday Social, Saturday Social + Sunday Tea Dance)
SATURDAY TICKET: £45 (4hrs classes + Saturday Night Social including Taster Class)
SUNDAY TICKET: £40 (4hrs classes + Sunday Tea Dance)
Struggling financially? There are a limited number of Access to Dance Passes available for these workshops, enabling dancers to attend at reduced cost. Please email jessie@swingproject.co.uk for more details.
SOCIAL TICKETS
SOCIAL PASS: £30 (Includes Friday, Saturday and Sunday Socials)
FRIDAY SOCIAL: £10 in advance (Includes Friday Taster Class)
SATURDAY SOCIAL: £18 in advance (Includes Saturday Taster Class)
SUNDAY SOCIAL: £8 in advance

Terms & Conditions
Bookings are non-refundable unless this event is cancelled by the organiser. In the case that the event is cancelled, all attendees will be fully refunded or offered a chance to pass their booking over to a new date.
If you purchase a ticket and then cannot make the event, please let us know as we will operate a waiting list and may be able to put you in touch with someone who can take your place.
