Social dancing is where Lindy Hop really comes alive.
What makes this dance wonderful are those three minutes that you share with someone else on the dance floor. Because each person is different, no two dances will be the same. The improvised nature of the dance means that every moment can be cherished. The real joy of Lindy Hop comes from the connections you forge with each person you share a dance with.
The classroom and workshop environments are great for giving you the space to learn vocabulary and technique, but just like with learning a language, the best way to practice your skills and build your confidence is by trying it out in the real world and adventuring onto the dance floor.
The Swing Project regularly hosts a variety of social events across South Wales, all filled with friendly dancers and great music - so grab your dancing shoes and we’ll see you on the dance floor!

Wednesday Night Hop @ Bootlegger
The first Wednesday of every month we’re at Bootlegger Cardiff! Join us for a beginner friendly class followed by two hours of free social dancing!

Saturday Night Swing
Once a month, we take over First Space at Chapter Arts Centre for an evening of swingin’ tunes and friendly faces. Get your weekend off on the right foot and join us for a free taster class and two hours of free social dancing!

Weekly Class Socials
Live in the local area, or just fancy a break? Every Monday, Tuesday & Thursday we host a free mini social between our weekly classes at First Space in Chapter Arts Centre. Pop into Chapter for a dance and a drink!
Socials are always at 8.05pm - 8:30pm, and even if you aren’t attending a class you’re welcome to join!
Welsh Weekender Social Passes
We hold regular bigger socials throughout the year, featuring greats DJs and live bands in our beautiful sprung floor venue in South Wales.
7th September: Live Band Social (8-11.30pm)
8th September: Tea Dance (4.30-6.30pm)
Urban Lindy Pop Ups
Come along and join us for free social swing dancing with local dancers at our Urban Lindy Pop Ups. We hold pop ups regularly throughout the year at various locations across South Wales, which offer a unique opportunity to spread the Lindy Hop love.

Lindy Picnics
Throughout the summer, we host Lindy picnics across Cardiff to offer dancers and their friends the chance to socialise off the dance floor- there’s nothing quite like dancing with the grass between your toes and the smell of summer in the air.
